Over the past few weeks I have made monumentas progress on my independent project. I am extremely close to finishing a draft on the basic curriculum of a design course that could be offered at Hawaii Preparatory Academy. This curriculum will include four sub-sections that cumulate to a final product or form. In addition I have finished a draft on an Independent Design Research Project. I was able to gather information from specifically Carnegie Mellon’s school of Design on how they teach their students about design and how to best approach project based learning. Through this research process I have learned what it takes to create a traditional yet cutting edge art education.
The next stage of my project again will require aid from Hawaii Preparatory Academy’s financial office. I am not fully aware of what information they will or are able to divulge to me but though contacting them will find out. In addition to the financial office I need to continue to communicate with Ms. Petteys and continue to have open dialogue with you on ways to best analyze the total cost of an offered course at a public or a private educational institution.
