Alpha Waves

Today I have found an article on Alpha brain waves, which I found to be very interesting. According to the article, Hans Berger was the one to detect alpha waves, which were the first brain waves discovered. Furthermore, the article states that these waves are responsible for creativity and peak performance moments. it says, that according a science researchers athletes seem produce a burst of alpha waves at the peak of their performance (for example, basketball players or golfers before the shot). Although, the article does not state specifically how the research was done and how they have have detected the burst of alpha waves, the article raised such questions as whether there is a burst of alpha waves at a peak of analytical performance?
