    1. What you did this week: successes, failures, lessons learned
This week I started my Electromagnetic Radiation research and got to learn about the different types of radiation (Ionizing and Non-ionizing). I was specially fascinated with the Gamma Rays which are the strongest source of energy in the universe, they are weightless packets of energy. Even thought I started this project wanting to research about the radiation specifically in our daily used devices (phones, computers, etc.) I found Gamma Rays much more intriguing. Even thought I might want to do a little bit into that later on. I learned about the power that Gamma-rays hold and all about Gamma-ray bursts and also Coronal Mass Ejections. CMEs are flares and expulsions that come from the sun's corona (outer layer). The most recent one happened very recently on the 28th of October and is said to hit Earth's atmosphere on the 30-31st of October (just in time for Halloween). This CME was a X1-class which is the strongest class of CME. This will affect the radio stations, lights, and will intensify Earth's auroras.

This is a gif of the actual ray on the 28th happening.

I talk a little more about this in my notes:

I also learned about the gamma-ray burst captured by The NASA Swift Satellite 12.8 billion light-years away which was caused by the birth of a black hole and was the farthest thing we have detected.
    2. What you plan to do next week: what, where, with whom
Next week I want to research more about black hole births and the gamma-rays that are emitted from them. I will also will hopefully be able to look at the gamma-ray detector in the telescope. I might play a little more with the radiation detector. I want to keep my research on gamma-rays going but I might also try and look into other types.
    3. What you need to do this: from me, from others
I don't need much except my computer and maybe Dr.Bill to help me out with the telescope.
