Today I contacted a neurofeedback expert to ask advice on how to design my tests. I'm excited to hear back from him. I also worked with Savannah in the main room. For some reason, my quicktime screen recordings didn't save, so I have nothing to show for the results. Savannah played a lecture, but it was difficult to concentrate because a teacher was meeting with a student in the main room during our test. The robotics class was also making a significant amount of noise, making it extremely difficult to understand the lecture and nearly impossible to retain any information. I tried to focus solely on the lecture, but my attention level peaked at about 60 /100 if I remember correctly. This test was interesting because it seemed to be an accurate representation of what taking a class is like in the main room of the energy lab. While the teacher meeting with his student was nearly whispering, the echo of his conversation almost completely engulfed the lecture. This is also true of the clanking and buzzing coming from the robotics class, as well as doors opening and closing to other rooms off the hallway. It's insane how much noise you hear in that building when you're trying to sit down and listen to one thing, and it's so evident that Savannah's project is really important. I could not hear the lecture and retained little to nothing, and my attention span, despite all of my efforts, was just above half of what it could be.
