Today in ISR, Angelina, Sneha, and I calendared out the Ames project. Here is our plan:
- By January 14th: Introduction
- Sneha: 3D Model & Executive Summary
- Angelina: About the Authors
- Sameer: Mission Statement
- Brianna: Table of Contents & Executive Summary
- By January 21st: Section 2 and 3
- Sneha and Sameer: Location
- Brianna and Angelina: Structural Design
- By January 28th: Section 4 and 5
- Angelina and Brianna: Operations
- Sneha and Sameer: Human Factors
- By January 31st: Section 6 and Final Summary
- By February 10th: Final Draft and Application Forms Submitted and in the Mail
We also need to make sure that this project is really unique and special so we have a lot of other extra information we want to add in. Here are some of our ideas (all of which need to be done by Jan 31st):
- Hydroponics Project with Extensive Write-up and Pictures (Sameer)
- HI-SEAs Project/ Algorithms / Results (Brianna, Angelina, and Sneha)
- HAM Radio (Sneha)
- Quantum Communications and Research (Brianna)
- Survey of the Most Desired Type of Government (All of Us)
I also emailed Mary-Beth discussing internship opportunities at CFHT, and she asked for my resume. I don’t really have one officially typed out so that is something I am working on right away.
Finally, I reached out to some of my particle physics and engineering contacts. I sent them my ideas on the muon detector and asked for any of their ideas on how to improve and modify the design, particularly for what I am wanting to attempt to do with it. Here is a list of people I reached out to:
- Dr. Don Lincoln (Fermilab)
- Siyuan Sun (Atlas, CERN)
- Manuel Olmedo (CMS, CERN)
- Sarah Charley (CERN)
- Dr. Amanda Yoho (PhD in Astrophysics)
- Margot Tayler (One of the most awesome people ever!!! Also physics major from MIT)
I might also try to email some of my new contacts from the International MoonBase Summit and some of my old contacts from JPL.
