Zephyr almost ready! We are going to upgrade, cleaning things up. www.hpazephyr.com is our domain now! Got Analytics, figuring that out now.

Week 13: 4/24 - 4/28

Received all nature photos from Ms. Johnson, still need to sort through and upload to website. Working on it with Aya in order to show her what the process is, and have another person there. Still need to email Braithwaite/ talk to him in person about short stories, only problem is they aren't necessarily complete. Had my Drug and Alcohol Counselor interview, hoping it went well!

Week 12: 4/17 - 4/21

Here for Tuesday only - discussed interview with class, conducted mock interview for Mr. H, learned more about interview process.
Visited Oakland, going to commit to UC Berkeley!
Planning to contact more people about short fiction, must email Ms. Johnson again.

Week 11: 4/10 - 4/14

Last week was revising the Zephyr website even more to tinker with the single blog posts, found a way to make comments work! Only difficulty is with getting the comments to adjust as the post does. Another note- hit counter was originally planned, but it seems like there's no way to reset it and it looks out of place in the single blog post, thus deleted. Wix has a spring sale for premium, must talk to Mr. Schorn / Mr. H about that - window of opportunity only extends to 4. 20 I believe.

Week 10: 4/3 - 4/7

Finally completed the mobile/desktop versions with additional Zephyr submissions and Olympics page, need to contact Ms. Johnson for photos. Zoe McGinnis and Aya Serikova onboard for next year! Met with Mr. Schorn, Aya, Zoe, and Ms. Horgan during lunch on Monday April 10th, discussed what we can do next year to successfully launch the Zephyr on a semesterly schedule next year.

Week 9: 3/26 - 3/31

Last week went through all of the Zephyr submissions and pulled out things relating to Wonder (plus the Zephyr Winners), just need to get author names from Mr. Schorn. Starting marketing campaign next week, getting ready to launch as soon as possible (Monday, April 10).

Week 8: 2/27 - 3/3

Zephyr website complete, will have to achieve communication with Mr. Schorn (probably after Spring Break), rethinking launch date and integration of Olympic Contest content. Helped Aya edit photos for her website, also spent some time discussing with Jackson and Asa ideas for conceptual portraiture to be used with the podcasts, scouting locations around Elab. Used Aya as stand-in for photos, came out well! Burst sequences are fun.

Week 7: 2/20 - 2/24

Completed the mobile version of the Zephyr!! Met with Mr. Schorn on Thursday and discussed Zephyr layout and issues more, mainly just not enough photography. Contacted photographers, no responses, so I put some of my own works in. Tried to launch Monday but no response from Mr. Schorn, we'll see how it goes and in the meantime, I need to talk to Jackson and Asa.

Week 6: 2/14 - 2/17

Spent the week tying up loose ends for the Zephyr, emailed eleven people about beta-testing - three responses back, all with constructive criticism. Unfortunately, WIX has limitations and can't handle certain things. Zephyr pretty much good to go, just needs approval by Mr. Schorn and mobile to be ocmpletely finished..

Week 5: 2/6 - 2/10

This week we had our first 'Sprint' check-in, which is a monthly check-in with Mr. H (and Mr. Schorn for me). Notes: Look in photos for textures around the school to use as backgrounds, change things for The Theme page, put Works in a grid form, 'Read More' button not necessary for Poetry (mostly), think about accordian style, put info on the front page, and think about the archive. Planned launch date is Monday the 20th, social media too and beta-testing should happen soon.

Week 4: 1/30 - 2/3

This week I polished the website for the Zephyr more, figuring out fonts and hunting down photos for the background, for photo gallery, and to pair with blog posts. Met with Mr. Schorn, many notes (recorded in my phone). Note to self - meet with Mr. H about fonts, convert Artwork background, talk to Anthony about photos from his pieces, ask Tanner for his artwork. Also mulling over ideas for HOHPA, getting slightly bored with it. Going to talk to Asa and Jackson about conceptual idea.

Week 3: 1/23 - 1/27

This week, got more interviews for the BTS (Back To School) project, haven't gotten around to transcribing them yet however. Digital Zephyr is nearly finished, still looking for more artwork and more short fiction, talked to Braithwaite about it and will follow up on that the 31st. Hoping to publish soon! Missing a few back buttons, uploading photos etc.

Week 2: 1/16 - 1/20

This week was more focused - I took photos and interviewed people for the Humans of HPA project, trying to get a feel for people's headspaces as we all ease back into a school mindset. I also met with Mr. Schorn about the Zephyr, and so far we have decided that the Wix mockup I created will be the format for the Digital Zephyr instead of Finalsite, which would take longer to adjust for. I checked in briefly with Mrs. Hayslip about the status of the Zephyr as well, and she mentioned that Ms. Horgan (English/ Social Studies teacher) was interested in doing the Zephyr-After-School for Spring Season. In addition, I talked to Will Savage and got great photos from him that will be used mainly as background images for the Zephyr.

Though my original deadline was to finish the Zephyr website by the 20th, I found myself unable to fully finish. It will be completed as soon as possible, which hopefully means next Friday (27th).

Week 1: 1/9 - 1/13

This week was mostly focusing on getting back into the swing of things, had a day dedicated to roasting Mr. H, and the other day was spent working on the Project Plan of Implementation. Not much has changed for my project except for a shift away from researching why things go viral, and combining Humans of HPA with the Zephyr project in this one period. Next week will be dedicated to taking photos about Back To School feelings and thoughts, and working on the latest edition of the Zephyr.

Week 15-16: 11/21 - 12/2

For the past couple of weeks I've been delegating more of my time to the Zephyr project with Mr. Schorn, as that needed more work and flexible hours. I talked to the students in Mr. Braithwaite's F period English class about sending in writing, talked to the AP Art students about submitting their artwork, and used some in-class time to work on sifting through the poetry and other works submitted. Another chunk of time was spent preparing for the presentation, which I had on Tuesday (12/6). I wasn't able to get the amount of work that I had been planning for, but next year I will manage my time much better, and make improvements in my technical skills with the camera and interviewing as well.

Week 14: 11/14 - 11/18

This week I focused more time on the Zephyr project, which will be published and online by December 14. I've looked through all of the content from Ms. Hayslip's 9th grade Honors classes, and pulled out a few things that fit Wonder. Talked to Tania, who is also interested in the Zephyr project, and she's also going to look through the doc (like Sidney Vermeulen did). A few blockers - Mr. Braithwaite's English classes haven't emailed over anything, but the people I've emailed will hopefully come through too. I wasn't able to meet with Mr. O'Leary, but I'll email him about a meeting for next week, Monday the 28th. Final blocker is that I am sick, but I'll continue working on things over the break.

Week 13: 11/7 - 11/12

For the past week (short week), I took pictures and got interviews / organic quotes from students and teachers, though I wasn't able to fill my quota for a couple of reasons, the main one being the musical production swallowing my time. Finished photos are shared with Mr. Schorn, and Mr. H helped me look over which were most appealing to him, both quote and photo-wise. This week I'll show a couple more people the photos, and will shoot more too, while working on an inbound marketing certification (ties in with both this project and the Digital Zephyr).

Asana Tasks:
- Inbound Marketing Certification
- Shoot more photos
- Show more people photos and quotes; how to improve

Week 12: 10/31 - 11/4

For Halloween on Monday, got some great pictures of students dressed up that were later sent to Aislinn Carroll. Been having trouble with captions, probably because I'm doing such long interviews with students and not getting out of the Elab during F period. Talked with Mr. Schorn, goal for next week is to get at least 30 finished pictures with captions, just short things. I'll focus on more getting punchy quotes than a full-on interview, doesn't need to be too long (thinking more HONY).

Asana Tasks:
- Get out of the Elab
- Teacher Series
- Student Series - Awe
