I studied for finals today. Next class, I will record a video explaining my projects this semester.

Dr. Michela emailed me back about what I can do for the current mission. They do not need any remote sensing help but she offered to let me write some content for social media posts. But it is not clear what I should write about for this so I will try to call her and set up a conversation. Dr. Bill emailed a couple of us about a NASA robotics competition.

Today I emailed Dr. Musilova to check in about the upcoming missions. I haven't heard back from her in a while so I want to make sure I don't miss the opportunity to be involved. Dr. Bill showed Nissi and I a short manual about brainwave headset-controlled headsets.

Nissi and I charged the MyndWave headset. We watched videos about the headset and looked at different applications that we can use with the headset. Dr. Musilova still has not gotten back to me.

This week, a new Myndplay headset arrived. We left it to charge but we have not started using it. Next week, we will try it out and find what applications work best. It seems like I might have the opportunity to be involved in the Hi-Seas type missions that are coming up. I can look up things on the internet for the crew and write some social media content during the simulations. But, I am still waiting to hear back from Dr. Musilova to confirm this.

Today I spent most of the class working on homework because it has been a really busy week with a lot to manage. Dr. Musilova has still not confirmed that I can be involved in the upcoming missions (working on social media posts and looking things up online for the crew)

Dr. Bill sent us some articles on gamma rays. I spent most of the class reading about this and similar topics online. The Myndplay headset is charging, so next class we should be able to try it out with different apps.

There is a new Mindwave headset. We charged it so that we can use it next class because it was not charged (and it will take four hours to finish charging). Dr. Musilova has not responded to my email to confirm that I can support the Mauna Loa missions coming up.

I received an email back from Dr. Musilova this weekend. She said that I could contribute to the upcoming EMMIHS missions at the habitat in the coming months by working remote support and writing social media posts. I emailed her back today to let her know that I am very interested.

This week, Nissi and I did some research on projects that other people have done with brainwave headsets. We wanted to see which apps they used with Emotiv and Neurosky headsets. We used some different apps this past week. Dr. Musilova never got back to me about the upcoming HI-SEAS missions, but I am not sure if I should send a follow-up email.

Nissi and I researched the different apps and headsets people have used for their projects. We are trying to understand a better way to record reliable data with the headsets. We want to find the best software options as well. Still no email from Dr. Musilova.

I have not received an email from Dr. Musilova regarding the upcoming Hi-Seas missions. I might send a follow-up email at some point this week because I am very interested in the potential opportunity. In class today, I tried out different apps with the MindWave headset.

I have not received an email back from Dr. Musiolva about any way that I can be involved in the upcoming Hi-Seas missions. Today I got to see the seismograph recording of the earthquake that happened this morning.

I emailed Dr. Musilova today about the Hi-Seas related missions coming up in December, January, and February. I hope that there is some way that I can be involved. This week I also had the chance to learn about light, wavelengths, and frequency. This coming week I will probably try some more apps with the MindWave headset and be in contact with Dr. Musilova about Hi-Seas information.

A HI-SEAS type mission was announced to start in December. There will be two missions after that in January and February. I will email Dr. Musilova about anything I could potentially do during these missions. I did homework during class today because I have been busy with the school play.

Today Dr. Bill explained wavelengths and the color spectrum to Will, Nissi, Shaori, Ethan, and I. We learned about hydrogen, how electron valence shells affect the colors we see, and information about how scientists developed and discovered these concepts.

Today Nissi, Will, and I tested out some of the lasers. We tried to figure out different wavelengths and frequencies. We want to continue trying to use the Mindwave headset software, Myndplay, in future classes. The Bluetooth connection is spotty, but I think we can find a way to record data eventually.

This week Dr. BIll helped Nissi and I find a way to get the Mindwave software working. We tried it on multiple computers. The Bluetooth connection worked with Dr. Bill's laptop. Last class, we used MyndPlayer with the headset and Dr. Bill's laptop. The Bluetooth connection was not consistent enough for us to record data on the app more than once.

Nissi and I used the MyndPlayer software with he Neurosky headset. It connected through Bluetooth, but the connection was spotty and did not last long enough for us to use the software. We used Dr. Bill's computer this time which helped. Next time, we might try another computer.

Dr. Bill helped Nissi and I find a computer that we could use the Neurosky Mindwave headset with. The headset has not paired through Bluetooth correctly when we use new apps on other computers. Dr. Bill said that he would continue working on this.
