Week 4 Blog
This week we just worked on our project plans. I used the time fairly well to complete my project plan and explore Asana and become familiar with it. I also started to research the club carts we have and what might possibly be wrong with them. More on Asana I believe it will be a great tool to use in the future but its someone one really has to live and breathe to make work for their project.

Project Plan - Refurbish and Maintain Energy Lab Club Carts
I will have four different phases in my project that will take me from research and design to reporting my findings. Phase one and two will be dealing with the initial start up of the project. Phase three will be the main section of the project and phase four will be the conclusion and my findings of the project.

Phase 1: My first phase will be to plan and research my project. My first major milestone will be to create and work with Asana to basically set up my whole project. My second major milestone of this phase will to get everything I need sorted out with Dr. Bill and discuss what needs and wants to be done with the carts. Some wanted things could include added on gauges and extras including regenerative braking.

Phase 2: My second phase of this project will be to diagnose the problems that are going on with the Energy Lab’s Club Carts. My Major milestone of this project will be to diagnose all the problems with the carts and to order in the proper parts to repair and manage them.

Phase 3: The third phase of my project will be to actually install the ordered parts and repair the carts. The first major milestone of this project will be to install all the ordered parts on the cart. A second major milestone will be to get my first cart running in an orderly fashion. From here I could further the carts mechanically or continue repairing the carts.

Phase 4: The fourth phase of my project will be to report and confuse my management on the carts at the E-Lab. My biggest mile stone of this will be to over all complete my project as how I wanted and accomplish my goals to further the Club Cart projects at the energy lab.

Week 3: 8/29 - 9/2

This week we over viewed product planning and team management through visual representation and our class definition “scavenger hunt”. I thought both of these helped the class learn terminology of teamwork in a efficient way. Since the hurricane interrupted this week there is not much to report, however, I do believe the class scrums are coming along. I thought the definition hunt was a genuinely a great way of helping the class learn definitions in business and over all provided a great activity. I did also further research Club Carts and possible problems with the ones I will be working on, however, I do need to further talk with Dr. Bill about my project. Over all a good and efficient week even though we were held back.

Week 2 Blog Post

So far I have finalized the basic concept of my project and what I will need to do over the course of the next semester to complete and fix the Energy Lab’s club carts. The first step to tackle this project will be to diagnose the club cart’s variousproblems and to fix the general functions of them to clear room for future projects with the carts. Ive looked into regenerative braking with the carts and believe this is something that I could do with this carts to fix and improve them in total.
