Today I wasn't in class because I had my AP Stats test.

Today Ilan, Oliver and I helped clean up the big shelves in the main room of the Elab, taking down all the foam, routers, tools, and random items from the top three shelves and making things a little neater. We left a bunch of stuff on the desks in the main room, but Dr. Bill wanted that because he was gonna sort through it all and tell us where to put it next class.

This week a bunch of miscellaneous stuff happened. I worked a little on the drone, cleaning up the wires and PCB board that are part of the vog sensor and taping them to the box holding it all together. I also worked on my project presentation and created a student corner account and created my page for Mr. H to have people look at. Oliver, Chris, Ilan and I were also able to go up and put an antenna mast up for Dr. Bill in the horse pasture above the solar panels because he wants to sent wifi to Mr. Rose. It was kindof sketchy where he wanted us to put it up, so he ended up taking it down because there wasn't enough support.

Today, when I looked up at the antenna mast, it was on the ground. I had thought that it fell over, but Dr. Bill actually cut it down because he thought it was too sketchy, which it was. I worked on my page for the presentation today, making an account on the site that Mr. H has everyone on and writing my abstract for it.

Today, Ilan, Chris, Oliver, and I took the antenna mast the was by the solar panels up to where Dr. Bill wanted it on the fence line. We tied it down to the fence and a tree up there so that it wouldn't fall over. It was kinda sketchy, but we got it done and it is where Dr. Bill needs it to give the Rose house WiFi.

Today we talked in the middle room for a while, going over how the presentations are going to work and everything that we will need to finish before then. After that, I went into the mon lab and worked on sticking the control board, antenna, and other PCB board of the vog sensor onto the laser cut box that holds it in place. I just used some normal double sided tape, but I was able to get it all together and solid, and hopefully next class I can test it out with another batter that we have now.

This week was really chill. I asked Mr. Emmons were to buy batteries for my drone at the beginning of the week, and he got back to me yesterday saying Hobby King. Other than that, I didn't really do much of anything. We submitted our survey for where we want to present and what we need, and we talked about presentations and other things throughout the week, so it was a pretty relaxing and nice week before AP's.

Today we had a really short class, and we didn't really do anything except our beginning meeting then talk about proposals for next year with doesn't apply to me since I'm a senior. It was a really relaxing week, and we didn't do much, but it was nice since AP's are next week and we just chilled out and studied.

Today I just hung out in the monlab. I'm still waiting on a response from Mr. Emmons about where to buy batteries, so as of now, I'm at a standstill for my project. Hopefully soon I'll be able to plug in the vog detector and figure out how to work it.

Today we talked for a long time about everything that everyone is doing. We got some input on how to finish up our projects for the year, and we also submitted the form asking where to present and what we will need. Other than that, we just hung out and talked about about a bunch of random stuff.

Today Ilan, Chris and I helped move some windmill stuff for Dr. Bill. We moved it up behind the water catchment tank under the Elab. After that, I worked more on figuring out how to power the vog sensor and how to connect the power wire. Its starting to look like it will work, but all I need is a good battery. I emailed.Mr. Emmons asking him where he gets his batteries so hopefully we can get one soon.

This week I worked a ton on figuring out how to power the vog sensor. I was only in class two days of the week because I was flying the other day. All my work was pretty simple, figuring out and researching how much voltage the Vog sensor can handle, and how much the power distribution board can output. It wasn't a very interesting couple of classes, but they were productive and I figured out how to power the vog sensor. I explained that in the 4-23-18 weblog.

Today we talked for most of the class. When we finished, Ilan, Chris, Sameer and I went up to move an antenna tower to the other side of the solar panel fence for future endeavors. After that, I worked on figuring out more about powering the vog sensor. Dr. Bill said that 5.6 V is close enough to 5 V to power it, so I think I should be set.

Today, I was doing my first flying cross country with my instructor, so I wasn't at school.

Today I showed up late to class because my dad forgot to wake me up. I was only 15 minutes late, but once I got there, I started working on figuring out how to power the vog sensor from the drone. I was able to figure out that the two switches on the back of the power distribution board on the drone must me in the "up" position (When the writing on the side of the switches is on the top, to the right.) for the BEC's to output 5.6 V. The vog sensor voltage is 5 V, so I'm gonna ask Dr. Bill to see if those are close enough.

This week was really low key. All I did was print out the box for the vog sensor, fit everything together, and made sure that it was securely attached to the drone. That was all done in the first day. The second day of the week, I spent time researching websites that would send a battery for the drone to Hawaii, but I couldn't find one, so that was kind of a wasted day. I'm gonna talk to Emmon's about that because he says he knows a way. I also prepared for my presentation on Friday to the board. The last day of class, I had a baseball game so I wasn't there. On Friday I had my presentation and that went really well, the people on the board seemed really interested in the projects.

Today I researched on trying to find a way to ship batteries here. I couldn't find any website that would ship it Hawaii, so it felt like kind of a wasted day. I was able to spend some time working out what I would say for my presentation to the board, so I got something done.

Today I worked more on the vog sensor box more. I was able to print it out and see how everything fit together. I then made sure that it fit on the drone and that everything looked good and was solid. Theres not a lot to write about today because I spent most of my time tweaking the wood so that it all fit snug, but after that I was able to put more two sided tape and zip ties so that it was able to be attached to the drone well.
