Final Summary 5/17/15

Because of volleyball states the only work I was able to accomplish was my final elab presentation. Because my project is one that cannot be easily taken up by underclassmen, I plan to take my project and expand it in college. My project this year ended completely differently from what I first expected but what it has obtained more potential than I would have ever thought. The next collegiate chapter for my project will be mysterious and exciting.

Presentation 5/12/15

Today I presented to international student recruiter agents. My short presentation was just a snippet of the larger presentation I will present in the afternoon today. I also wrote my blurb that will go with a picture of me doing my project. This blurb and picture will printed out and given to the audience of the presentation.

Weekly Summary 5/1/15

I continued my elab drawing this week. After working on drawings for a while I finally have started up work for my gallery once again. I have a few additions ready to create for my gallery explained in the previous post. Even though I am splitting work between the website content and my individual project I will continue to work on both with equal effort until the end of this year. Because website design has due dates and stipulations work for that will most likely be more directed toward it.

VR Art Gallery 5/1/15

I'm back working on my virtual gallery for the time being. I am working on adding HUD controls that triggers the lights and music. What I have planned are different rooms that include various themed music and lighting that add to a specific ambiance. For Example, I plant to make a room that plays binaural beats along with low lighting to create the proper environment for my absurdist series.

Virtual Gallery 4/29/15

Some researchers from Kec came to visit the E-lab so Davy and I showed them our projects. Davy presented his human machine interface projects and similarly I presented my immersive virtual gallery. One of the researchers was into art along with being a UCLA grad so I explained the significance and philosophy of exploring art and sciences' dichotomy. Next steps in my gallery is switches for the lights and music.

Update 4/28/15

This is the skeletonless version of the elab drawing. In photoshop the color and drawing are separate layers so I hid the skeleton layer and the results have a new aesthetic. I am still going to continue to use the skeleton but hiding it shows more artistic styles that I could use later for future drawings for the website.
As you can see, the coloring is coming close to being finished. These last uncolored parts are the most complicated sections because the reference image I am using has high contrasted darks in that area.

Update 4/22/15

As progress continues I can more clearly visually predict what the final product will look like. My assumptions is that it will heavily resemble a prototype architecture sketch. That is the look I have been going for. Updates to follow.

Coloring Update 4/17/15

The coloring process is tedious but so far I am achieving the style I have been attempting to replicate on photoshop. Updates are pretty similar to one another but the process is interesting to log. Posting the progression helps me keep my style uniform because often times I change minute details subconsciously that alters the style little by little.

Coloring 4/15/15

I finished the color for the concrete on the energy lab. I have started the color on the main body. As you can see, I finished the skeleton of the drawing. I am using the a custom water color brush that I created in photoshop. The custom brush is also pressure sensitive so all the aspects replicate that of a real life brush. These assets are vital for the aesthetic quality of the drawing. m

Weekly Summary 4/10/15

This week I started the Elab drawing for the new HPA website. I started off with the base sketch, I call the skeleton. The process of getting the lines true and straight is a tedious task but so far the drawing is looking good. Next week I plan finally finish the skeleton and get onto hashing style shading. After the shading I plan to added realistic, slightly pastel colors that mimic water colors aesthetic quality.

ELab Update 4/10/15

This is placeholder text for your new blog entry. Replace it with your own.
I have added to the right side of the drawing. My drawing pad is pressure sensitive so the vents above he conference room are a bit thicker. This shouldn't take away from the drawing at all because the under layers of shading and color with shroud and of the skeletons imperfections.

Update 4/8/15

I have added quite a bit to the E-Lab drawing. I haven't changed my plan for any of the styling, so everything is on track. Currently this is what I call the skeleton/architecture-eqsue phase of the layering involved for this art piece.
