    Class today was mostly an introduction to the new year and an orientation for new students to the Independent Science Research class with Dr. Bill. I introduced myself as well as the projects I will be a part of this year. Starting off with my bionic prosthetic hand, I shared my idea of creating/3D printing a new model of the hand that will have more dexterity. Secondly I informed the class in my interest in the NASA projects that take place around the islands. Specifically the BASALT, HISEAS, and PISCES studies. Lastly, I am working with Daniel Groves on building a quadcopter drone. The goal is to make use of it for surveillence, monitoring, and surveying. Today I began to peice together the parts that came in the mail at the end of last school year. Unfortunately I do not have an photos from todays class, but this is what a finished version of the drone frame will look like:
