On Wednesday we finished installing almost all of the sensors in the classrooms on campus. The only building we have not yet installed the sensors in is the math building. In this building we will ask for permission the next time we meet on Monday. This week and this quater has been a great success. We were able to install almost all the sensors in the Classrooms we were planing on installing them in, these include:
    The Art Building,
    Castle Lecture Hall,
    The English Building,
    The Social Studies Building,
    The IT Building,
    The Social Studies Building,
    The Language Building,
    The Science Buildings
as well as the Energy Lab
and several classrooms at the lower campus
The purpose of these Netatmo sensors is to be able to monitor the environments students learn in at HPA. By gathering this data we can detect in which areas we can improve the learning environment and make the experience more enjoyable and productive for students and teachers.
The largest problems we have encountered when installing the sensors was an erroneous connection to the campus wide network "ebs" or a physical disconnection to the power source. Several of these errors we successfully fixed on Friday.
Next week and during spring break we will continue to improve these connections which will also enable us to focus on the data that's being collected. The long term goal is to find patterns which we can then use to support changes in the classrooms.
