Today the wind was light so we attempted to fly the Vision drone. Chris had a mishap and crashed the drone into a pillar outside in the courtyard. Thankfully, the drone was completely fine and we got an opportunity to learn about the ground effect. The ground effect occurs when a drone, or helicopter, is hovering very close to the ground. Like a canoe, air waves from the drone are hitting the ground directly and bouncing back up towards the drone. These air waves collide with the downward waves from the drone's motors and create a strange airflow which can cause the drone to flip over.
