Week 16 s2 May 15 – May 17

This is the last week before finals and though I only had two classes this week, I have upgraded my website and now it is up and running. I wrote up the interviews that I have taken last week and honestly, just terrified for the exhibition right now. I still have some interviews left to publish, so I will have to do that as soon as possible. I still don’t have material from Podcast and Recycling store, which makes me really anxious, but hopefully that will not stop my progress. Overall, this was a fun year and I am excited to see what will come next year with Digital Journalism and Digital Zephyr.

Week 15 s2 May 8 – May 12

This week was very productive with the amount of content that I have gotten. I interviewed Buki, Janelle and Kieran, and Tom and Jin, which means that I have a story about their project from everyone except for Asa and Jackson and Elijah and Lyons. Hopefully I will be able to get their stories as soon as possibly. With Jackson leaving and Elijah and Lyons couldn’t do it when I asked them, I will probably have to email them and have them write up their questions so I can post them on the website in that form. Mr. H and I talked more about the upgrade for the Wix, so that should be coming next week.

Week 14 s2 May 1 – May 5

I have finally got pictures from most teachers, so I just need Mr. McKenna and Mrs. Hayslip. I have put all the pictures that I had so far on the website and it starts looking better and better everyday. This was not the most productive week. I have mostly reviewed website and edited all the small details that still needed attention. I also helped Alicia check Zephyr for any small details that needed fixing. Both on the mobile version and on the desktop version. After that Alannah and I were also messing with the new comment section, so that is now installed on the website. What Alicia and I figured out is that you can require people to put their names and emails on the comment, so that is always a good way to have it a little more controlled.

Week 13 s2 April 24 – April 28

Took a lot, a lot, a lot of pictures today. I have taken pictures of all projects except for Asa’s and Jackson’s so I will have to find a way to get their picture in there. I created a document with a lot of questions to ask people for the interviews and some guidelines and ways to have deeper and more specific answers from people. Hopefully that will work. I also created a list of all the pictures that I still need for the website which leaves just most teachers except for Mr. H and a picture of the Podcast team, which will hopefully be easy to get.

Week 12 s2, April 17 – April 21

Had the issue with mobile text fixed this week. Biggest thing was probably that I have interviewed Alec about his drone and was listening to that, just have to type it up and upload it. I have talked to Mr. H and Alicia about upgrading our Wix for the time of presentations. Starting working on finalizing some things and getting ready for the presentations. The website should be ready by then, so that’s exciting. The biggest issue now is getting all of the content be ready on time.

week 11 s2, April 10 - April 14

This week I have looked over notes from last week’s meeting with Mr. Schorn, Mrs. Horgan, and Mrs. Hayslip. I have talked to Alicia Chow about future plans for the Digital Zephyr for next year. I had a meeting with Mr. Schorn to talk about possibilities for next year’s classes and Zephyr ideas. Rather than that, for my website I had worked more on getting it more mobile. The mobile version is getting better, but some of the little things like title over a photo looks good on computer, but too big on mobile and if I flip it, then it’s good on mobile and too small on computer, but I am getting that worked with.

week 10, s2, April 3 - April 7

Last week I have mostly focused on the mobile version for my website. I finalized some small changes on the mobile version. I fixed the teacher's page that was really bugging me. I also started to write up Sienna's interview for her article and hopefully finish that this week. Overall the project is going well and now I just need to finish interviewing people and get over my fear of Mr. Schorn to take a picture of him. I had a meeting with Mr. Schorn, Alicia, Mrs. Horgan, and Zoe to see where we are at for the Zephyr for next year, so I am officially taking over Alicia's project. Now we just need to find a way to work it into our schedules. This week for the project, I'm creating a google docs for everybody in ISR to see which date and time is best for people for me to interview them. Google Calendar will be a lot of help to me during the next couple weeks.

Week 9, S2 March 27 - March 31

This week I have finished all the small changes that the website needed. I have wrote up Alicia's interview and had it proof checked. I finished writing it up on the website and published it. I have wrote up in Asana all the pictures that I need to still take, which includes: Sienna, Asa and Jackson together, Alec, and teachers, such as Mr. Shorn, Mr. McKenna, and Mrs. Hayslip. I took several pictures of the Elab and updated my home page. I still need to create a page for the staff to describe what they teach and how they assist the Elab. I have created a google document to record different questions that I can ask people during interviews that are both broad and specific and I have placed them under certain categories. I have added comment sections to all pages on projects and I am now figuring out how to manage them. This week I will be writing up Sienna's interview and hopefully post it. And create pages for staff as a blog. Overall, the project is going well and I can definitely see myself finishing it up pretty soon.

Week 14? Dec 5 - Dec 9

Over this past week I have been working on my presentation and was also tested by Sienna. The EEG headset was messing up though, so she has to redo the test this week. I think I have gotten back on track and got back into the green with my project progress. I am very happy to see that I have finished 2 phases in my asana, so I have now finished my website design and purpose and my website's complete outline and template in Wix. For this semester I have gotten as much done as I can, so for this week I will be working on my presentation, hopefully finishing it, possibly watching Alicia's presentation, getting my brain waves tested, and looking through Asana to see what else I need to work on. Next semester I will be focusing more on interviewing people, writing up the articles about their projects and interviewing teachers to learn more about the elab. Overall, I believe that I have done quite a big amount of work for this semester and now my next semester will look a lot more like an English class. I will continue working with Codecademy over winter break and later continue it next semester as well.

Week 12 Nov 7 - Nov 11

Nothing much happened this week. Nothing at all happened this week actually. I was supposed to present my work to the "council" but instead, I spent most of my time either in the infirmary or the ER. I haven't worked on my project at all for about two weeks now, which is a really big setback. My current status is red on my project, I have a lot of catching up to do. Can't really write much else, hopefully, my condition will improve soon. Miss school and class, kinda boring over here in the infirmary. Friday, Nov. 4, was my birthday and I was planning on getting better and showing up at school that day, ended up spending time at the ER. So yeah, my project isn't going anywhere at all right now. This 3rd week now that I am sick and hopefully I will feel better and come back to the project soon.

Week 10 Oct 24 - Oct 28

Can't believe it is already Week 10. This past week, I had a tiny delay, because Wix didn't save my progress from one class when I created all my pages, so I had to redo an entire class of work, which put me one day behind. Rather than that, my website is coming along. I am planning on finishing up the design part this week and starting on actually putting content the next tweek, or the week after that. I will continue changing and adding to the design, so this week won't be the final draft, but it will be a big accomplishment. However, there is a blocker/challenge that I am currently writing this in the infirmary, so I don't know whether I will feel well enough to attend classes this week. If not, I will try working on this as homework, or I will move the schedule one week over for everything, which might get me behind and create a blocker.
Status: green possibility of going yellow

Week 9 Oct 17 - Oct 21

This was a weird week with all the parents visiting and a short week and having all classes; however, I am happy to say that I have gotten my website back and running and I am going to continue working on it today. This past week I was working with Alicia for pictures, but also, searching all of google to find how to fix wix and it decided to come back to me itself. This week I am going to continue working with Alicia and create teacher section of my website. If I'll have time I will start working on my interviews and possibly interview some people. Now that I have my website back, I will work on catching up to date with updates on it.

Mood: Happy!

Week 8 Oct 10 - Oct 15

This week I made a lot of progress in my project. I got my website more or less under control until Wednesday when my Wix account and my website crashed. I had managed to get my account back and preview my website, but it does not let me edit it. I have searched all of Google to find the answers that I need, but I am still stuck. Hopefully, I can get this under control soon to restore my project. In the time being I have collaborated with Alicia to see what kind of picture she had and what I can use. This week I am planning on working more with Alicia and working on fixing Wix. Hopefully, I can then start on my website again. If not, then in the time being I will try to come up with interview questions for students to learn more about their projects and write a paper about it to then post it on my website.

Week 7 Oct 3 - Oct 7

This week I have worked on my website template; however, this week wasn't the most productive of all. I would say that my status is still green, but I am slowly working on codecademy. Not as fast as I wished, but I'm getting there. Rather than that, I haven't accomplished any other tasks on my asana or anything like that. I had a meeting with Mr. Shorn to talk more about how to have the content for the websites. I completed several asana tasks, but no major ones yet. Started exploring github and continuing to explore atom. Starting now, the progress is going to be slow, though. Tasks to work on: - Template - codecademy - work more with github and atom.

Week 6 Sept 26 - Sept 30

Over the last week I have started creating my website through a six template. I have continued working on codecademy. Overall last week wasn't my most productive. We have met with the alumni and talked about his experiences and successes, as well as his downhills. It was really interesting to me because I learned more about Project Management and planning and that failures are ok. You just need to keep going.

This week I will work more on:
- my website template
- continue with codecademy
- check my asana and put/edit my due dates

Week 5 Sept 19 - Sept 23

This past week I had completed my codecademy unit on building website, introduction. Now this week I am planing on going into more depth with that and starting the next unit. I have made couple designs for my website and I still need people to look over that and help me come up with more ideas. On a google docs I have created a list of all the ideas for what my website is going to be used for, but I still need a lot more ideas and actually start looking over them and decide which one I am actually going to choose. My asana usage has been improving and last week I had completed around 8 tasks, which I feel like is a big accomplishment. My project status is currently green.

Biggest things to accomplish this week:
- learn to photoshop to create my website design online
- ask Oliver Grayson about how to use Atom
- peer edit design and purpose
- have a final design and purpose this week

Week 4 Sept 12 - Sept 16

Last week we have talked more about project management and started writing our project plan, which I have completed over the weekends. Some of the biggest milestones from last week for me was organizing my Asana and creating all the tasks in there. This week I will be working on giving my website some shape, I am planning on having a design of my project done before next class and brainstorm at least 2-3 ideas what my website is going to be used for. Before the end of the week, I should have a final design and final website purpose ready.

Some of my Asana phases are:
- Codecademy
- Website design
- Website's purpose
- Coding

Week 3 Sept 5 - Sept 9

We have learned how to do project management and what it is. We started using Asana and so far I am loving it. I love that it sends you an email whenever there are due dates approaching. It's very easy to use and very organized. This week has been a really weird week due to having 2 hurricanes hit Hawaii and an unexpected earthquake. There wasn't all too much happening, therefore, I don't have a lot to write about. I didn't do too much research. I was mostly messing around with Asana, Codecademy, and Atom, and getting help from friends with programming experience.
