Today, I had a lot of fun with the third graders. It was amazing to see how much energy and enthusiasm they had. Although the brainwave headsets weren’t working well at first, we found one that did, and they found it very cool. They also loved the virtual reality headsets, which were fun to watch.

I look forward to doing more activities with them.

Today I helped Dr. Bill move things on the shelf. It was fun climbing the ladder and I am going home with a drone now. I was happy to see that the seeds that the girls planted were sprouting. 

Today I harvested a lot from my hydroponics system, I also adjusted the EC and made sure the roots weren't clogging the pipes. The weedles in the hydroponics system decreased my crop due to all of the leaves that they ate. In the future, I think I would have more success growing something like radishes that is not a leaf crop. I am also very interested in growing strawberries and basil although I am not sure how they'd do.

Today I checked on my EC to see that it was still at a good level of 2.4. I was also pleased to see that my plants were doing well. I decided to make an album on my phone documenting how my plants look each day to better observe their growth. I then went down to the garden to help Mr. Quayle and talk to him. He taught me about plumbing as we repaired the pipes that got broken. We also talked about mushroom substrates and he told me that he would have sugarcane scraps this month. I also researched which mushroom would most likely grow best in sugar cane and it was oyster mushrooms as they grow in straw which like sugar cane, is a grass.

Today I checked the electroconductivity on my hydroponics to find that it was at a good level so I did not have to adjust it. I was also pleased that most of my plants were happy and proliferating. Then I learned about earthquakes in Hawaii and the immense amount that takes place around Kiluea. I then talked to Mr. Quayle and helped pull a lot of weeds, I discussed ideas for my capstone and how I am incorporating hydroponics into it. 

Today I checked the electroconductivity of the hydroponic system to see that it was pretty high so I did not need to adjust it. I also helped Dr. Bill move some things and did some research into mushrooms. I discovered that you can grow mushrooms in books and watched a tutorial video on it.
