This week, I decided to approach musical therapy, which is something I have always been interested in. I discovered what types of brainwaves there are and what each of them represent. Below is my proposal.

Proposal
Abstract: I hope to research what types and parts of music soothe and aid in reducing depression, stress, and/or anxiety.
Title: Music Therapy Research
Background: I want to learn more about that causes stress and anxiety in other people and what type of music can aid in the reduction of it. I need to know what types of brainwaves there are, and what specific brainwave correlates to each one of those feelings and emotions.
Purpose: The goal of my project is to create music that reduces depression, stress, and/or anxiety in others and myself. I will measure brain waves, the types of emotions one may feel, what causes the emotions, and how much of what type of music aids in the reduction process, such as types of instruments, tones, vibrations, keys, beat, and possibly lyrics.
Im going to try and measure it by personal opinion of person being tested, heart rate, and types of brainwaves.
success will include the difference of a persons measurements (resting heart/brainwaves compared to Stressed/depressed/anxious heart/brainwaves)
Tools/resources needed: I need people willing to test, brainwave tracker (I forgot what its called), any place for testing brainwaves and recording music, local resources, collaboration resources: possibly Ry bleckel and anyone who is a doctor who knows about brainwaves/ specifically musical therapy.
Though I am not a doctor, I feel like since I am someone who relates to the age and emotions of a person being tested, I can continue to create or allow others to understand the findings of my research to help themselves.
I am going to use my findings in my own personal music creation
Impact and legacy (HPA, local, global): I think that it may help students whom get stressed or easily anxious find a way to reduce (and possibly prevent) feelings of distress. I think that since music is so easily transported via digital media, everyone who has a computer or knows someone who uses a computer can have access to something that is essential free help.
