Today we begun watching a series of pix4d seminars that will better describe to us how to use the program. We realize that entering without viewing these tutorials left us blind to many of the proper methods and cool things that pix4d can do. The seminar we saw today was called "indoor" mapping. It explained the using "fish eye lenses" when doing work on the ground created much more effective models than normally pictures because there is a "high overlap" between pictures because the lens is so wide. Apparently, picture overlap (the amount that two pictures from different locations share of one area) is the key to creating high resolution models. This is, perhaps why, using my phone camera to try to enhance our energy lab model was innefective and actually decreased quality.
