Let me start out by saying this weblog is late. It should have been turned in last friday. Read it as if it had been posted on friday:
This week we got our first assignment. The assignment was to record the middle schooler's beach cleanup from above using the drone. This took place on friday, september 19th. We have three indpendent periods per week, so during the first two, we prepped for friday. We did this by doing test flights on the softball field. We wanted to make sure that we would have the confidence to manuevear accuratley since we were flying around other students.
On friday, we left during D period, the first class of the day, and traveled to Spencer Beach and the Kawaiihae small boat harbor to film the student cleanup. Both cleanups consisted of about fifteen students. Because of the small magnitude of both students and trash, the video is not that interesting. Here is a video montage of the student cleanup:
If the intermediate school requests, we will make a better version of this mashup to send to the students. This is just a rough cut.
Also, on friday, a new person also signed on to our project. His name is Juan. He is an 11th grader.
