January 14-20 Weekly Blog

This week was a very productive week in ISR. I got the Arduino Nano's for the muon detector and downloaded all the necessary programs to allow me to work with them. I also learned how to access all the data for the HI-SEAS project data and cameras. Finally, I got an internship at CFHT and emailed Keck about possibilities there.

My goals for next week are listed below:
  • Muon Detector - Next week I want to learn and work more with the Arduino Nano's. I also want to order all the parts I need. I have some emails about getting a scintillator that I need to look at and I have the start of a supplies list that I need to finish and send to Dr. Bill.
  • IMS - I want to try to contact everyone on basecamp again, and hopefully get Angelina and I back involved in the project.
  • HI-SEAS - Next week, I want to learn how to make dashboards and learn what else is involved in the project.
  • CFHT Internship - I have talked with Mary Beth and she said that there is no rush for me to come in right away, so I can still attend paddling for the first few days of this week. She will email me when it is best for me to come and work with Kei and Alexis, who are the two engineers working on the new spectroscopic telescope.
  • Keck Internship - I have already gotten in contact with Keck and I am simply waiting to hear back. What I do next week will depend on their response.
