My silicon photomultiplier arrived today!!! I wasn't able to open the entire package as the part is extremely heat and humidity sensitive, so I should only open it within 72 hours of soldering it to the circuit board. My only problem with this part is that I have to reflow the solder to attack it to the circuit board as it is a surface mount piece and, HPA currently doesn't have the equipment to do it. I have been talking with Mr. Halstead about ways to get around this or to makeshift a process similar to it but, I am also going to reach out to the University of Hawaii, who supplied me with my scintillator, and ask if they have the technology to do this.
