Semester One Plan

Comments

- My initial plan was to build a carbon fiber frame drone that we can code, customize, and put different attachments on, such as Infrared cameras, radio antennas, and visual cameras. My goal was to create a drone that we can program to do different tasks, such as autonomous flight, autonomous take off and landing, search and rescue missions, and agricultural and electrical surveying.
- So far I have assembled the frame and added a lot of the parts. We have attached the GPS, power distribution board, flight controller, and a couple other components. The motors were fairly easy to attach, but we still have to figure out which way we want the wires to come off.
- The biggest problems we have run in to so far is trying to get the receiver to connect to the transmitter, and also one of the motors has been seizing up, but I think that is because it is tightened to the drone arm too much. Other than that, it has been going really smoothly.
- My next step is to attach the ESC's, then to program the flight controller, and start seeing if it will fly. This week I want to start soldering the battery connection to the power distribution board, and once I can attach a the battery I can start programming the drone from my computer.
