    Update 09/07/2017

Due to current natural occurrences around the globe, I am looking into hurricanes and their specific characteristics. In class today I looked up Hurricane Irma as it approaches South Florida (my home) and passes over the Carribean. It currently is a Category 5 on the Saffir-Simpson Windscale, 150 Knots/185mph wind. My family and friends have been notified and asked to evacuate. Many have left to Atlanta and others, like my family, are going to wait to see what will happen. A few things may happen over the next few days: Firstly, Irma may turn up onto Florida and the east coast, secondly it may take a direct route and speed up over the Gulf of Mexico where it could potentially hit Texas and Northern Mexico. I will be watching it closely over the next 96 hours!
